Mavid Pharmaceuticals Limited is a Ugandan pharmaceutical company founded on resilience, innovation, and a commitment to improving access to quality medicines.
The business journey began in 1992, when Haji Bukenya Sulaiman and Haji Ahmed Kasule entered the pharmaceutical trade. After early challenges, they built a strong foundation through strategic partnerships and a deep understanding of the industry.
In 1995, the company formalised its operations through incorporation, aligning with emerging regulatory requirements set by the National Drug Authority (NDA). This marked a turning point, enabling sustainable growth in a competitive and strictly regulated sector.
Mavid expanded rapidly by forming key partnerships, including acting as a Local Technical Representative for international suppliers. In 1998, the company transitioned into manufacturing, acquiring established product brands and evolving into a fully-fledged pharmaceutical manufacturer.
